This Life's Not About Me.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." -- Proverbs 3:5-6

As I get older, I grow to appreciate the significance of Christmas more.
When I was little, I cared more about the presents than anything, but I worried that I’d always feel that way. I’m so thankful for how God’s changed me and revealed Himself to me.

Christ, perfect and spotless, chose to humble himself and come to earth as a baby. What an incredible, beautiful picture. He did it because he loves us. It’s easy to push past that and get caught up in other things, but the truth is too powerful to ignore. Christmas is so much more than tradition and gifts. Jesus Christ was and is the Light of the World and our Savior King. His holy, humble birth led to a sinless life and then paying for our sin by death on a cross. We must remember the glory of how God sent His Son to be with us. Let’s remember why we call Him Immanuel, Wonderful Counselor, Everlasting Father, Mighty God, and Prince of Peace.

I’m so blessed to have been a part of my church’s Christmas services this year. Worshipping our Savior & remembering the true meaning of Christmas to folk music. What could be better? :)

(Side note: I played the harmonium for the first time ever. Twas a good experience.)
